LEAGUE GOVERNANCE
The Kamloops Soccer League (KSL) is exclusively operated by the Kamloops United Soccer Club (a member-funded BC Society) and is governed by our By-Laws and Rules & Regulations and other related policies. Click to view them on our main web site.
- Minimum age restrictions in effect for each division.
- No maximum age limit in each division.
- You may play in both the 30+ and 45+ divisions provided you are 45 years of age or older in the current year.
- You may play in the Open and 30+ divisions provided you are 40 years of age or older in the current year.
- If waitlists are required due to high enrollment, your position on the waitlist will be determined by the date your completed registration and full payment is received by the Registrar.
- PERFORMANCE BOND: Through your registration fees, your team posts a refundable performance bond each year. This bond is subject to forfeiture should your team default or miss games. Please refer to the Appendix A of the KSL Rules & Regulations on the league’s web site for details.
START OF SEASON
- The KSL employs an Entry Draft system for all new players.
- Each season, the Entry Draft is held prior to the commencement of regular league play – in May.
- New Players are notified by the team representative’s immediately following the draft.
- Players registered last year and wishing to change teams can also re-enter the draft at the beginning of each season only.
MID-SEASON
- NOTE: At the sole discretion of the KSL Executive and if player needs dictate, the KSL may run a mid-season entry Draft for new players.
- The mid-season entry point allows returning players to re-activate themselves from Injured Reserve or the Protected list. It also allows for new players to be drafted into the league.
- New players are notified by the team representative’s immediately following the draft.
- New players coming into the KSL via the mid-season draft are only allocated to the drafting team for the remainder of the current season. They must re-enter the general draft in the following season.
- Fees are set at approximately one-half the regular season fees (including playing fee, performance bond and initiation fee, if applicable).
GAME DAYS
The following are the days of the week (and general start times) for games in each division. Please note that you generally get 1-2 games a week and rarely play on all game nights in a given week (unless it’s a make-up or rescheduled game).
Open Division
- Sunday afternoons (4pm & 6pm times)
- Tuesday evenings (6pm)
- Thursday evenings (6pm)
30+ Division
- Sunday afternoons (4pm & 6pm times)
- Tuesday evenings (6pm)
- Thursday evenings (6pm)
45+ Division
- Sunday mornings (10am)
- Wednesday evenings (6pm)
FIELD LOCATIONS

- Players missing six (6) consecutive games without a valid reason may be dropped from their team’s roster at the sole discretion of the team representative.
- Players are expected to communicate (in person, email or phone) with team reps on matters relating to absences from games.
- Dropped players are NOT entitled to a refund of fees.

- While the KSL generally follows FIFA Rules of the Game, there are some exceptions including – slide tackles are NOT permitted in the 30+ and 45+ divisions. Please refer to the Appendix B of the KSL Rules & Regulations on the league’s web site for details.
- Shin pads are required.
- The KSL Disciplinary Committee, in its sole discretion, adjudicates all discipline issues that are considered to be extraordinary.
- BC Soccer rules of conduct are observed as appropriate.
